Now with Facebook support!

We released 2.4.4.0 as a second step toward 2.5. We added the Facebook upload feature. Few words about this:
- the google login handling and upload to Picasa Web Albums had to be changed as well. If you encounter any issues with that, please do not esitate to contact as (email, blog, ...)
- the facebook platform is not as stable as google at the moment. The result is that sometimes some of the pictures will not be uploaded (the tradeoff was to possibly upload duplicates; we decided not to). We are working on this, but cannot promise to get it fixed soon since it depends on a lot of external factors.

Update 20.12: we made some progress on the facebook upload. It seems that we found and handled all special cases. The current small bugfix release (2.4.4.1) includes these bugfixes. Please share your experience with us on facebook (we are the user SoftEx Comp)

We had to post a quick fix with the version 2.4.3.2. The installer script was buggy, it forgot to create a directory and that implied automatically that a lot of the functionality was disabled or not working properly. No issues are encountered on systems where AZImage was only updated, because the directory was already there. Sorry for that, it was really painful for us!

The version 2.4.4.0 is prepared. It will include, as a preview, the upload to Facebook feature. We are looking for volunteers to do the proper testing. As a reward you will get full Licenses for AZImages.

The flickr upload feature is not coming very soon. We wait for more than 2 months to get an application key from Yahoo! to start testing.

We posted the update with the version number 2.4.2.0. RAW Formats are now configurable when loading (see menu under Options), as well as JPEG.

A bugfix for the exif information was also included and the exif library updated to 0.6.18. The resut is that right now the exif information is kept when resizing the image (dimensions of course are updated). We also copy some information from the raw image like camera model and camera maker.

Another minor performance improvment is the fact that we load the thumbnail from the raw image for the preview and do not process the raw image completely.

RAW Formats are now supported!

We released the version 2.4.1.0 of our image converter that adds support for raw file formats. We use the dcraw options colorspace Adobe RGB, no gamma correction, use camera wb, use camera color matrix, automatic dcraw filtering, no further corrections (it implies relatively washed out colors after the conversion - but no quality lost). The next versions will allow to fully customize the load of the raw files.

The previous version improves the interface and adds support for the romanian language. We intend to add soon support for german and french. If you feel like helping out, please post a comment on the BLOG. You will get for your work a free full version of AZImage (18$ USD worth) and will be mentioned as a contributor.

The AZImage team just updated their image converter adding the support in the GUI for advanced options to control the JPEG output and the possibility of choosing the resize algorithms.

We posted a demo on youtube. Try the new min/max algorithms, they are cool! The price also dropped to 18$, making AZImage more affordable.

Yesterday with release 2.2.0.1 some of the user interface bugs were fixed. Now the Folder open dialog works much better. To users that are using drag and drop or the context menu to add images, nothing has changed.

Fixed the Google Picasa issue. Google reinforced SSL v3 on their connections, that is why AZImage starting by default with v2 was rejected. Also some of the fixes for the plugins were included in version 2.2.0.0 (PGN with alpha, Fax formats in TIFF, ...).
