OpenGL problems with ATI/AMD Cards

We have got some error reports from users of AMD Graphics Cards. The error is not affecting the basic functionality of AZImage (i.e. the images get converted properly) but no animation is shown during the conversion. The error was detected in combination with an older Catalist Control Center version 13.4.

The only thing that needs to be done to fix this problem is to update to 13.9 release of the Catalyst Drivers. You can download the update from the official AMD site. No change is required in AZImage.

Online Help now available

AZImage help goes online! You can now get more information about how to use the software at our online help index.

Even better, you can contribuite directly to it - it is a wiki, based on the same software as Wikipedia. Please feel free to improve, correct or extend the help. You contribution will be of great help for the others.

Do you have questions about how to use a certain feature? Do not hesitate to use the discussion page of the corresponsind AZImage form to ask it.

Did you find a typo in the AZImage interface? You can directly correct it online under AZImage translations home. It will be included in future releases of AZImage. Let's improve AZImage together!

New quick selection dialog with predefined format values!

We improved a little bit the user interface, adding a quick selection dialog that allows you to set the values in the format selection dialog with one single click!

This makes the file a lot easier for people without image processing experience and speeds up the work of proffesionals.

After selecting the format you get back to the well known format edit form where you can tune the predefined parameters to exactly match your needs.

A small update will be published in the next days. We added experimental support for the german language (translations may still be lacking quality).

A new update to the site is also programmed for the next month. We want to add some wiki features such as FAQ and to publish the help online so that you can contribute to it.

2.5.0.1 is out! Image processing support added with 4 functions: Brightness/Contrast, Frame, Watermark and Grayscale conversion.

Note: Conversion formats from versions previous to 2.5.0.0 are not supported anymore. The reason is that the new image processing options require a sort information for the operations that was not available before.

Image processing is on its way!

We plan to release in January (around the 15.01.2010) a version supporting also some image processing algorithms (i.e. brightness/contrast, frame, watermark, grayscale).

18.01.2010 - we entered the test phase and expect to release AZImage in two weeks. The version number will be increased to 2.5.0.0 since the new conversion formats are not backwards compatible.

Now with Facebook support!

We released 2.4.4.0 as a second step toward 2.5. We added the Facebook upload feature. Few words about this:
- the google login handling and upload to Picasa Web Albums had to be changed as well. If you encounter any issues with that, please do not esitate to contact as (email, blog, ...)
- the facebook platform is not as stable as google at the moment. The result is that sometimes some of the pictures will not be uploaded (the tradeoff was to possibly upload duplicates; we decided not to). We are working on this, but cannot promise to get it fixed soon since it depends on a lot of external factors.

Update 20.12: we made some progress on the facebook upload. It seems that we found and handled all special cases. The current small bugfix release (2.4.4.1) includes these bugfixes. Please share your experience with us on facebook (we are the user SoftEx Comp)
